'I Got It Bad And That Ain't Good'

by Duke Ellington/Paul Francis Webster, arranged by Keith Jarrett, transcribed by Sam Leak

This Duke Ellington song was recorded by Keith Jarrett on his 1999 album 'The Melody at Night, With You'. The album was created whilst Jarrett was suffering from Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, and is thus imbued with a simplicity and intimacy. London based Jazz Pianist Sam Leak completed a note for note transcription of Jarrett's recording in 2012; of which I used as a guide for my performance. Recorded with Laurence Suckling, a fantastic local musician whose work can be heard here: https://soundcloud.com/the-unknown-island
